For my first example of differentiated instruction, I included a copy of a note-taking guide that I used for a lesson. Some lessons from my unit plan called for students to take notes displayed on a projector. However, some students struggled to keep up with the notes during the lesson. As a result, I provided note-taking guides for each lesson that incorporated notes. Struggling students were able to take the notes while participating in the learning process.
My next example of differentiated instruction involves a modified test. A student in one of my classes had an IEP that allows her to take modified tests. As a result, she is given simplified choices on matching and multiple choice questions. Also, short answer questions are graded with more leniency.
